The established asset-management platforms are priced for a city with a GIS department. A town of two thousand gets the same quote and the same implementation timeline, and quite reasonably says no.

How it fits together
One work order can cover a sign, a hydrant and two streets.
Work orders and inspections sit above the products, not inside them. A crew that replaces a knocked-down stop sign and its post writes one work order covering both. A crew that crack-seals four streets writes one work order with four stretches drawn on the map. You are never asked which module the day’s work belonged to.

Most platforms make you build and maintain a road centerline layer before you can record a single pothole. AssetLink does not. The dispatcher traces the stretch on the map, and the street names resolve against national Census road data we keep on our side — invisible to you, never something you edit.
Trace two blocks of work and the record comes back naming the streets you crossed. Nobody typed them, so nobody typed them three different ways.
